Objectives of the Lesson
  •      to enhance students listening skills
  •      listening to specific information
  •        listen effectively in a variety of situations for a variety of purposes
  •     students will able to understand the simple conversation and acquire listening strategies

Procedures

Induction: Class begins with dua (al-fatihah). Then, students will be divided into 6 groups for warm up activity. Each group consists of 4 to 5 members.

Teaching activity: This activity requires students to make conversations among their group members. Each of the members will be given certain task and the other members will share their conversation.


   35 minutes



Internet based activity: After the warm up activity, the students will be given some time to switch on computer and log in to a website. The students will be having listening activities based on Lauri’s ESL Website: (http://fog.ccsf.edu/~lfried/)

There are three types of listening conversation:
1. at the shoe store 
2. at the bank
3. clothes shopping

Teacher will provide students handouts and worksheets. The activities will be repeated once again for students who are unable to pick up information.

Conclusion: Discussion among members after listening activities is carried out.

Evaluation
  •        The students will revise their answers with group members.
  •   Students who answered correctly reflect on their listening and comprehension skills.
  •      Students are able to listen well on certain information.

Reflection
  •    There might be problems on sound system that will affect the teaching process.
  •     Students might have problems in understanding some pronunciation in the activities.
  •     This lesson plan helps us to think systematically and organize our teaching method.


Methods:

     1) In teaching activity, traditional teaching will be conducted where students will have to speak and listen to the topic that they have selected randomly. The teacher has to distribute papers that contain number of topics for students to choose. This activity requires papers for the material only.    


   2) In internet-based activity session, students will have to listen to conversations in three different environments:
